Marilyn
Clinic Cat (Diploma in Feline Behaviour)
Marilyn is the resident cat at Wide Bay Vet Surgery. During the day she can either be found assisting the nurses in reception and greeting clients, overseeing hospital operations or managing files in the office. At night she is in charge of clinic security and is on call 24/7 for gecko management. When Marilyn is not busy running the clinic she enjoys cuddles and naps on the lounge, regular brushes and monitoring her food bowl level.

Dr Peter Gillespie
Veterinarian & Practice Owner (Bachelor of Veterinary Science BVSc)
Dr Peter graduated from the University of Qld in 1984 and has gained experience and further training in private practice in various practices here in Australia and overseas. He moved back to his Hervey Bay hometown and worked in other Hervey Bay vet practices before he developed the Wide Bay Vet Surgery in 2001.
With over 30 years of veterinary surgery experience, Peter has the solutions to your pets health needs.

Rachel
Registered Veterinary Nurse & Practice Manager (Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing)
Rachel grew up on her family’s cattle property where she found her love of animals big and small. At home she has many pets but is particularly fond of her Shar Pei 'Norbit'. When Rachel is not at work she enjoys attending dog obedience and agility training, crabbing (especially in crocodile infested water) and travelling the top end of Australia. Rachel loves being a vet nurse at Wide Bay Vet Surgery but her favourite aspects of the job include emergencies, surgical operations and interaction with the patients.

Tatum Watson
Senior & Lead Veterinarian (BVSc)
Dr. Tatum is originally from Canada, but moved to Australia as a child. She graduated from the University of Queensland in 2012. She has been practicing as a vet in the Fraser Coast since 2013. She has previously done mixed practice seeing both large and small animals but focuses only on small animals now. She loves the variety that veterinary medicine can provide and enjoys both medical and surgical cases. Her favourite part about being a vet is being able to provide animals with comfort and help give them the best quality of life possible.
When Tatum isn't at work, she enjoys time at home with her 3 fur babies - Sissy, Marley, and Reggie, her (human) son, and her partner.

When she got accepted into Vet School at UQ she moved to Gatton, Queensland to pursue her dream in veterinary science. She graduated in 2021, and decided she loved sunny Queensland that much she chose to call it home. She began her veterinary career on the Fraser Coast in 2022. We are so grateful she is part of our team! In her spare time Liz loves playing tennis, soaking up all parts of being outdoors and spending time with her Husband.

Jaydene has been with us since 2016 and holds a Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing. She looks forward to any opportunities that get thrown her way, including cake! Outside of work Jaydene loves making memories with her family, going on adventures and catching big red fish!

Nicola grew up locally on a small property in Mungar where her fondness for Animal Care began, helping look after chickens, dogs, a horse and wildlife. Nicola has been a Veterinary Nurse for 10 Years and now calls Hervey Bay home.
Nicola has a noodle dog named Ayla whose favourite hobby is couch-surfing and zoomies at the beach, and a family dog called Gem a beautiful Border Collie that just loves to play ball all day long. She also has 3 cats, Sharky, Khaleesi and Midoriya who demand food and love regularly.
